rosedale united
finished rosedale united jumper

it's dead hard to take good pics of noro yarns, the colour combinations fox the camera lens no end. if anything the colours here are a bit more saturated than they are in real life. the stripes that appear yellowy in the picture are more of a lime green. i completely adore the corrugated ribbing though it needed a good bashing with the steam iron to get it to lie flat.

close up of rosedale cuff

i started making this jumper on june 12th 2004 just after i finished my opal lollipop socks because i needed something easier to keep track of than limerick to keep me busy whilst half watching euro 2004 on tv.

this is officially speedy knitting as i finished the second sleeve on june 16th! granted the sleeves only go up to the underarm ready to join onto the body and knit the yoke in one piece but i'm still pretty impressed with this turn of circular speed! the body has slowed me down a bit because it involves knitting and purling back and forth in rows rather than just knitting in circles. not slowed down much though. body and sleeves joined together to make the yoke on june 23rd. i gave myself a break from knitting the same jumper all the time but i was still finished by the end of july 2004. just in time for the sun to come out :-)

wool to make my rosedale united jumper

i'm using the rosedale united pattern from knitty. my wool is noro kureyon in colour number 52. the best pic i've seen of this colour isn't on the shade card but knitted up as a jumper by melissa of loose ends, follow the links on one of her weblog pages to see what it looks like.
